ORGAN CONCERTS AND SOUP LUNCHES TO BENEFIT PROJECT SHARE

Jan 25,
First Presbyterian Church, Downtown Carlisle

Local organists will provide half-hour concerts at First Presbyterian Church each Wednesday at noon, beginning March 16. Each concert includes selections chosen by the organist of the day. On March 16, Brian Rotz of St. John’s Episcopal Church will begin this annual Lenten series. March concerts include organists Andy Hoke from Second Presbyterian Church and Shirley King of First Presbyterian Church. The organist for April 6 is Steve Middernacht of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Concluding the series on April 13 is a concert that includes selections by Shirley King with selected poetry spoken by Jon Black. The series was organized by Shirley King.

Following the concerts in the sanctuary, a lunch of homemade soups, with breads and a beverage is available in the church’s Gathering Room. Members of the congregation provide a variety of delicious soups each week and organize the lunches. A donation of $5 for the lunch will be given to support the work of Project: SHARE. The combined five week donations will be enhanced with matching funds from a grant.  Last year the concerts and lunches provided more than $1000 to SHARE.
